This is Candice. Candice works with entrepreneurs all across Africa through NubiaNetwork. Nevermind the #jhbHustle, Candice is taking it continent-wide. Find out more about the hustling that Candice does.

We’ve invited Candice over for a cup of coffee at our offices in Hyde Park and got to know her a bit better.

Here are some of the highlights from our coffee with Candice:

What motivates you to continue your Hustle?
Passion for change and to be different. Having worked across Africa and Europe, there is so much potential here. My passion and drive are to see that materialize.

What is the most difficult part of your hustle?
Staying consistent. It can be exhausting and being able to rest well between a challenge.

If you could go back in time, what advice would you give to yourself when you first started hustling?
Take it easier, slow is also steady! I was very rushed and did a lot in a short space of time. I would teach myself to learn more and not to suffer burnout. Push in the direction of what IS happening, not what I think should be happening.

What can’t you live without?
Ice cream!

In your opinion what is the most important part of your company?
The community aspect and how the team cares and looks out for one another. Being able to motivate one another and support one another creates an amazing work environment.

In one word describe your work personality
Friendly.

What are some of the struggles you have faced over the years?
Finding direction, in the beginning, was a challenge. I had so many ideas but what made sense then and what makes sense now are quite different.

What successes have you achieved over the years?
Standard bank top 5 entrepreneurs for 2018, one of the top 20 African entrepreneurs for 2018 and top 100 startups IN the global startup ecosystem (GSE) 2017.
